Bhaidooj / Bhaitika / Bhaifonta/Bhaubeej (Why moon is called Chandamama in india?)

Hi Friends.
Hope you all are celebrated Diwali safely with lots of enjoy

Bhaidooj is specially for the sweet relationship establisent of brother and sister. Sisters pray long life for their brothers.

Why we people celebrate this nice festival?Lets discuss. This time also reasons are so many. But mainly two reasons you may find out in maximum purans.

YAM & YAMUNA

It's basically held on the auspicious day of Yam-dwitiya.

It is described in purans that after so many request from Yamuna the deathking Yamraj once decided to meet with his younger sister.

They met at Yamuna ghat.Yamuna welcomed her brother  by applying vermilion tilak on forehead and "Aarti".

Yamraj presented her with a gift to signify his love and affection towards his sister.

And also declared that any brother who would receive this tilak from his sister on this day may never be afraid of death.

Krishna & Subhadra

According to Krishna puran , after Krishna vagwan slayed the demon Narakasur with help of Satyabhama , visited his siter Subhadra's house.

She gave him a warm wishes with flowers and sweets. Also applied tilak on his forehed.

Vaishnav followers , Arya samaj , ISKON follewers are basically believes story no 2.

Whatever it may be. Basic thing is as a brother you have to protect your sister vice versa as a sister you have to pray long life of your brother.

Story is till continue my friend. Now the question is , why Moon is called Chanda "Mama"?

Puran says , all time it is not possible for a brother to meet with his sister exactly on that day. Some of them are ahead from their sisters due to their jobs.

In that case Sisters have to welcome the moon as a brother instead of their brother↠↠.

Generally Mom use to tell her baby to call the moon as Chanda " Mama".
